HAGEN
陈孟奇 - 永远都在 FOREVER HERE

“This man: Creative Genius-Hagen Tan 永遠都在 ~” issued by Warner Music was released officially at the end of Nov. Hagen Tan not only devoted all his efforts but also invested much in this album with the idea and determination of “if I do it, I will do my utmost and make it the best”.

Therefore, songs in this album were all composed and written by him. Besides, he took the position as the producer and cooperated with other famous producers to complete the album.

“ 馬德里不思議 ” created for Jolin Tsai by Hagen Tan also was paid attention to in Asian Chinese pop songs field. This song was nominated in the best composition in 2007 Singapore 金曲獎 . He achieved this performance because of his attentiveness and effort.

At 14, he studied in England alone. In the university, he majored in Indoor Design and also utilized his time to be a hairdresser. This character of independence enabled him to go to Taiwan and learn music composition. He also expected to realize his dreams in different fields.
Not until he joined “ 絕對 SUPERSTAR” by chance did he find out his deep persistence in music. Then he worked harder to compose and interpret each song. In this journey, he turned out to be a man from a boy. It is quite an experience.

We expect that you can understand him better through this album “This man: Creative Genius-Hagen Tan 永遠都在 ~”. The following are the songs created by Hagen Tan:

In the new album of 郭美美 in 2007, there are 5 songs composed by Hagen Tan. Also, there are his compositions in the albums of 何建穩 , 陳世維 …etc. All these hardships and efforts and this album release are not just to meet current market needs. Jesus’s love leads Hagen and make him enlarge his love. Moreover, it is for everyone to experience good music with much sincerity and effort. The ripples caused by the movement in your heart absolutely are from the core of the most primitive and deepest heart. We believe that touching music and the spring of creation still need your support. Let’s experience the good music created with efforts and its moving melody together…

There are Hagen’s newest 1 1 creations recorded in this album “This man: Creative Genius-Hagen Tan 永遠都在 ~” , there are also 3 MVs produced for the songs for you.

The styles of these 1 1 song are diverse. There are lyric, Hip-pop and Traditional Chinese style… Different style presents different interpretation style. We can feel the effort and sincerity of Hagen Tan in these songs.

I think because of him we do not have to stop owing to too many choices of music. Since good music will “ 永遠都在 ” and ripple moving melodies in your and my heart…

MAROON 5 : IT WON'T BE SOON BEFORE LONG

Released in 2002, Maroon 5's Songs About Jane didn't win its new-artist Grammy until 2005, a lonely twenty-first-century monument of artist development. Descrying bankable hits in Adam Levine's love for the funk and knack for the hook, private investors and then Clive Davis worked it till it gushed oil. So the only surprising thing about It Won't Be Soon Before Long is its complete avoidance of sophomore slump. Justin Timberlake is subtler and will remain the hipster's popster -- there's nothing as rhythmically profound as "My Love" here. But there's more meaty-beaty dynamite.

The debut was a breakup album, brightly surfaced but sour underneath. This one's the diary of a top dog -- a multiplatinum idol with a soulful falsetto who has dated Jessica, Lindsay, Kirsten, you name her. Now Levine says he wants to have kids, but he also says the "give me something to believe in" bit in the rather nasty Jam-and-Lewis-style kiss-off "Makes Me Wonder" has a political subtext. Figure that voicing such feelings helps his dogging, and hope he doesn't mean it. Levine is too good at catchy come-ons, catchy pleas and catchy farewells to waste his sacred essence on social homilies others can do better. Instead of deep, he should work on nice.

He's getting there, too. The devilishly memorable "Won't Go Home Without You" combines confidence with affection rather than macho. "Nothing Lasts Forever" and "Better That We Break" are good-guy kiss-offs, matching their delicate rhythm figures and winsome tunes with fond thoughts, and the desperation of "Can't Stop" is too decent for self-pity or manly hissy fits. In a flusher age, Levine's handlers would be buying Caribbean islands. Now they'll at least stay in the record business.

TIMBALAND : TIMBALAND PRESENTS SHOCK VALUE

Timbaland can do whatever he wants. After the great hip-hop producer’s huge year in 2006, everyone and your grandmother wants to work with him. And on Shock Value, almost everyone does: 50 Cent, Justin Timberlake, Fall Out Boy, the Hives and Elton John make appearances, among others. For the most part, the guests leave plenty of room for Timbaland to do his thing. But on Shock, Timbaland’s thing isn’t quite what you’d hope.

Shock Value doesn’t feel as random and indistinct as many albums by producers using all-star lineups do: The entire disc has a dark, futuristic mode, with Tim using rhythm instruments like riffs and giving you beat candy in different flavors; even his rhymes don’t get in the way too much. On “Release,” Tim and Timberlake work up disco that sounds a bit like “SexyBack,” in a good way. The seductive “Oh Timbaland” seems to groove sideways and straight ahead at once. “Bombay” splits the difference between Bollywood and synth pop, and “Scream” rides a thumping, guitar-specked beat that deserves to have a better tune attached.

Shock Value sags toward the second half: The Fall Out Boy and Hives songs show that Timbaland has moved past the novelty stage of working with rock bands, but just barely. (The She Wants Revenge-assisted “Time” has a cool New Wave gloss, though.) The guests’ main job is usually just to adorn whatever Tim has in mind, which makes sense – no one can say he doesn’t have lots of ideas floating around that big noggin. But for now, those ideas sound better on the radio, not on this album.

ONE REPUBLIC : DREAMING OUT LOUD

Timbaland sure has funny taste in rock dudes. From the sound of his latest discovery, OneRepublic, he's been watching a lot of The Hills lately. The Colorado band, longtime music-biz chancers, sounds like an aggressively ordinary Audrina/arena rock combo, combining the least distinctive traits of the Fray, Matchbox Twenty, Nickelback or (to be charitable) Coldplay. But Timbaland has given them a huge hit with his remix of "Apologize," and a fine hit it is, too: a compellingly incongruous teen-romance melodrama, cutting Ryan Tedder's bland vocals with a stuttering R&B drum loop. On the rest of the album, OneRepublic get to assert their own identity, which is a drag, since the half-loud guitars and sob-in-the-throat vocals could be absolutely anybody. Tedder emotes about girls in quizzical plaints like "Mercy" and "Tyrant" ("Capable of most anything/This crippled bird's gonna sing"). From the CD booklet, it seems like the band members are devoutly religious, so maybe they should sing about God instead of girls, which would definitely be more interesting.

COLBIE CAILLAT : COCO

In a landscape populated by lawless and unrehab-able female pop stars, it's easy to see the Everygal appeal of this twenty-two-year-old MySpace sensation. Caillat sings about letting her feelings show on a mellow acoustic-guitar-and-piano song with a soulful swing, but over a dozen bland, sunny tunes, it's hard to pin her down. Her songs are entirely inoffensive -- that's probably why she rocketed to Number One on the iTunes chart.

JAMIE SCOTT & THE TOWN : PARK BENCH THEORIES

They are sensitive, they either play guitar or piano as their main instrument, they write really introspective and emotive songs that break your heart, and they are usually quite bleak and sappy at times. Welcome to the world of singer/songwriters, where if you like one, you would probably like them -- Jeff Buckley, James Blunt, David Gray, Ed Harcourt, Damien Rice, Aqualung, Rufus Wainwright, to name a few -- all.

Adding to this "same same, but different" crop of the singer/songwriter genre is Jamie Scott (a.k.a J.S. Baylin) from good ol' London. And he's everything one would expect him to be -- a sensitive soul armed with a guitar (and the occasional piano) and some stories to tell.

And it's a breeze listening to Jamie telling those Park Bench Theories. Backed by Neil Primose (drums) and Douglas Payne (bass) from Travis on record, a beautiful voice and a natural talent for songwriting, Jamie has really churned out quite the Sunday album whereby one would rather sit on a bench in a park, watching the world goes by. There's a whole lot of acoustic tenderness ("When Will I See Your Face Again," "Changes," "Standing In The Rain," "Rise Up"), a wee bit of funk ("London Town," "Two Men") with an underlying jazz feel. There are no flights of fancy but an album of really sincere and organic music that comes from the heart, which makes Park Bench Theories quite a quality record that one would love to revisit again and again.
