Performers may get chance to shine at YOG Performers in this year's Singapore Street Festival may have a chance to perform at the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in 2010. . The competition categories for this year's festival are: Japanese rock music, cosplay, bellydance, break dance, graffiti art, pop and rap music, "Power Adventure" online gaming and a yoyo competition. . Application forms can be obtained from *scape, the National Arts Council, 77th Street outlets, or at www.streetfestival.com. . As part of the programme for the YOG, the festival will allow youths from both Singapore and overseas to showcase their talent, said Mr Teo Ser Luck, Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports. . He added that the YOG organising committee will be making trips to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Switzerland "to learn from them" in terms of the guidelines, governance issues and logistics involved in the Games. . Mr Teo said that he had also received many letters from Singaporeans expressing their interest in participating in the YOG organising committee. . Some have had experience in, for instance, the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000. The 2010 Summer Youth Olympic Games (officially known as 1st Summer Youth Olympic Games) is the inaugural Youth Olympic Games, a major international sports and cultural festival to be celebrated in the tradition of the Summer Olympic Games from August 14 to August 26, 2010.
