77th Street Retailer Elim Chew advises SMEs to invest time and effort in a good customer relationship management system.http://www.straitstimes.com/SME+Spotlight/SME+Blogs/Working+towards+Success/STIStory_534932.html

GETALIFE! Membership was set up six years ago in 2004 to help us keep track and connect with our overwhelming following of youth and young adults.

77th Street currently has a pool of 10,000 active paying members and an overall collective database that is well over 120,000. Around 600 to 1000 new or renewed members join us each month.

By having a membership database, we develop a long-term relationship with our customers. This has allowed us to keep in touch with them and, at the same time, reward them for their loyalty and repeat business.

In my opinion, SMEs should develop and make the most of their databases. 77th Street has maintained a healthy database management system and we have benefited greatly from it over the years.

2010 has been even more exciting for us with the launch of our new-and-improved Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System.

Through this new technology, we are able to capture more information about our customers and increase the knowledge base about each customer. We are then able to use this data to further strengthen customer relationships and loyalty.

For example, we can narrow down our customer data search for effective planning for marketing campaigns that are targeted at a specific age group, income or buying pattern.

Some benefits for SMEs to have a good CRM system in place include:
- Marketing efficiencies;
- Improved customer data tracking;
- More concerted and targeted marketing campaigns; and
- Cost savings and efficiencies.

Not only do we benefit greatly from these efficiencies, we can extend these to businesses who wish to collaborate with us.

Our GetALife! Marketing team is constantly on the look out for potential collaborations with partners, specifically in the area of entertainment, fashion, music, education, lifestyle, sports and parties.

Besides enjoying rebates and exclusive members-only promotions in-store, members are also privy to other exclusive benefits such as free tickets, entry passes and gifts courtesy of our partners and collaborators such as Universal Music, Warner Bros and concert organiser Quest Music.

Our customers know that they are getting the most of their membership with us. This is how we create a win-win situation for our members as well as our business partnerships through our business match-makings.

You can write to elim@77thstreet.com if you like me to share more about our new CRM system and collaborative marketing efforts.
